The Forge
Welcome to Chiltern Forge
Hand-built by Chris, our forge stands where old-world blacksmithing meets modern craft — a place shaped by fire, steel, and the spirit of Buckinghamshire. Set in Chesham, within easy reach of Bucks and the surrounding areas, and just a short ride from London, it’s a space where tradition still breathes and new ideas take form.
Join us for hands-on classes and experience days, and step into the glow of the forge. Here, you’ll shape metal, spark creativity, and craft something real, lasting, and entirely your own.
About Me - Chris
Hi, I’m Chris — Master Farrier, metal wrangler, and enthusiastic fire-starter. After 17.5 years in the Household Cavalry, I learned that the real magic isn’t just in shaping steel, but in helping people discover what they can do with it.
I’ve picked up plenty of coaching and teaching skills along the way, and I love guiding someone through something new — adapting, explaining, and cheering them on until it clicks. Forging is a kind of therapy for me, and I love sharing that feeling with others.
These days you’ll find me in my happy place: a warm, welcoming forge full of sparks, laughter, and the occasional dramatic whoosh of flame. If you’re ready to swing a hammer, I’m ready to show you what you can create.
