Forged in Remembrance

Create or donate a Remembrance Day poppy with Chiltern Forge.

Become part of Forged in Remembrance - a unique public sculpture created from individually forged poppies, each carrying its own story.
Take part by forging your own poppy at Chiltern Forge or commission one to be made on your behalf.
Each poppy will be finished with a brass tag bearing a chosen name and brought together to form the completed memorial at Southgate Masonic Centre.
Open to everyone - Freemasons and non-Masons alike.
Together, each contribution will help create a powerful collective tribute to service, sacrifice and those forever remembered.
Every poppy will also help raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
The sculpture will remain on display throughout November, after which your poppy will be available to collect, or delivery can be arranged.

When can I collect my poppy?

Your poppy will remain as part of the Forged in Remembrance sculpture through November. Once the installation has been removed, your poppy will be available to collect from Chiltern Forge.
What if I'm unable to collect my poppy?

If you are unable to collect, delivery can also be arranged. Further collection and delivery details will be sent to participants once the memorial has concluded.

Frequently asked questions
What should I wear?

The forge can be warm near the fire but cool in other areas, especially in winter.

We recommend:

  • warm layers
  • long trousers
  • sturdy clothing
  • closed-toe shoes
  • long hair tied back

PPE is provided on site.
Is there parking at the forge?

Yes, parking is available in designated areas only. Please follow the signs or any instructions from your instructor when you arrive.
Do you provide lunch?

Lunch is not provided, so please bring your own food. You’re welcome to use the seating area during breaks.

We do provide refreshments:

  • tea
  • coffee
  • water

You’re welcome to bring your own drinks as well.
Can I arrive early?

You can arrive up to 10 minutes before your session. This helps us manage safety checks and preparation.
Is the forge accessible?

The forge is a working industrial environment with uneven surfaces.
If you have accessibility needs, please contact us before booking so we can advise.
Can I bring spectators?

For safety reasons, spectators are not permitted inside the forge during sessions.
